On most Wednesday mornings I am lucky enough to see this view at the beginning of my weekly 10k run. (And I see the same view from the other side on my way home.)
Like many prairie folk, I love water and where I live that means river and that means bridges!
(That's right! We got bridges! Bridges! Right here in river city!
See The Music Man 1962 with Robert Preston)
Even better than a river and bridges, are the people I get to run with.
This picture makes me think of them, of how we work out the problems of the world as our feet hit the trails and of how much we laugh.
I am a lucky woman.
And yes, I am feeling better - Thanks for all the good wishes.
I am passing those vibes on to the Dad of one of my running friends.
He is in the hospital, having tests and I am just ever so much hoping for the very best for him.
I got your Music Man quote right away - that's one of our favorites. My city has a river and lots of bridges too (but we've also got the ocean too!).
ReplyDeleteLove how you captured the walkway stretching out in front of the viewer - looks like it's ready for a run.
omg, did you say weekly 10k run? weekly 10k run? you *are* a gawdess. i love your bridge; i have always loved green metal bridges. they make me homesick-y for "back east" where i partially grew up.
ReplyDeleteand i'm glad you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteNice shot. I have (I think) the same camera - a Cannon 350D? I use it most days..
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better. I am still fighting a cough/sore throat since last week. My brother is in the hospital too, with his pancreas acting up. Lots to pray about and I'll add your friend's dad to the list.
ReplyDeleteI like this bridge shot.
Wonderful perspective, and I'm in awe of your weekly 10K
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot, glad you're feeling better. :) I think of that movie frequently, they call my city the "River City".
ReplyDeleteI love this! And I wish i could run a 10k! You are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI NEED a copy of this picture! I love it! love you! thank you Kath!
ReplyDeleteGreat perspective in this shot.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are on the mend.
Also impressed with 10k!
Glad you're feeling better again! :-D
ReplyDeleteNice view of the bridge walkway - and nice to see it without snow! *L*
I chuckled over your comment about prairie folk, water and bridges. There are a lot of them here, and a lot in Winnipeg, too, with its two major rivers plus several smaller ones. But when I lived in Richmond, BC, with is ON AN ISLAND in a DELTA, there were far fewer bridges. How does that make sense??
