mitten galaxy

mitten galaxy, originally uploaded by gawdessness.

The snow was the right kind.

I could tell by the way it fell, even through the window.

Tripod, coat, 100mm macro lense - damn, my cable remote shutter release doesn't work on this camera!

Okay, okay...I'll use the timer function -
except that it is so warm out that the tiny stars are starting to melt away before the ten seconds finish.

Argh.

Finally though, with the help of my mitten - I managed to catch a few of the falling stars.

This one was cropped down and I cranked up the contrast a bit.

Did I say I love this shot?

    :-)

(Having the snowflakes on a mitten evokes so much more from the image, good call there.)

  3. That is so awesome! I probably wouldn't be able to do it, but I wish we had some snow so I could at least try...lol!

  4. Oh, that is just AWESOME!!! I love it, it never ceases to amaze me. We went skiing a few weeks ago, it snowed some, but it was the wrong kind. I was trying to show my sister flakes like that on a car windshield. I will have to show her this! :)
