The camera club, of which I am a shiny new member has monthly competitions.
I am screwing my courage to the sticking point and entering some prints (eek! I may never mention it again - or I might, at any rate it is in the next week or two).
The theme is Things With Wings.
This shot may not be one I enter but it speaks to me.
There are times when I feel like that panicky goose looks - running like heck, flapping my arms and fully expecting my butt to get bit.
Not sure why but I also feel compelled to add this:
The park was geese full,
they are not peaceful.
Forgive me.
Canon Rebel xti, shutter 1/320, f5.6, 300mm, iso 100
Do you know the poem "The Panic Bird" by Robert Phillips? I was just rereading that this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteScrew up your courage! You should enter it...I love the selective focus on his head contrasted with the blurred flapping wings. Go for it.
ReplyDeleteI love this shot - just capturing birds in motion is pretty cool :)
ReplyDeleteOh, you timed this one really well! Wonderful action shot. A real challenge. I definitely think it's worth submitting.
ReplyDeleteA.
Good for you! I like it too. I hope you will tell us more about your camera club and the competitions.
ReplyDeleteYes, tell us about the club! And that is a great shot :)
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I had meant to say what they all did: go for it!
ReplyDeletevery cool shot!
ReplyDeleteYes! Enter some prints!
ReplyDeletefantastic picture. I think your pictures will be more than good enough for the camera club comps. Look forawrd to hearing about them.
ReplyDeleteCool shot, but I do hate geese! They are MEAN!!
ReplyDeleteGood shot! and enter the contest - you have some excellent photos throughout your blog and you will learn even more from your club members. The geese have become year round residents of our part of Maryland, and they sometimes get pushy. We also see large "V" formations flying north about this time of the year.
ReplyDeleteThe movement in this shot is great! Good for you for joining a photography club. Keep us posted on how it goes.
