there was a time
when
I made myself smaller than I was
hunching in
and
I tried not to be seen
noticed
remembered
my eyes squeezed shut
wishing, wishing, wishing
I was invisible
that was a dark time
now I stand tall
broad shoulders held high
chin higher
and imprint myself on the world
wrapping light around myself
to shine as brightly as I can
Good for you. Hiding yourself isn't a good thing to do. I still kind of do and regret it as I'm doing it.
