Whew.
This was a hard day for me to pick a picture, none of them seemed to stand out.
Especially not the ones that I thought might be "it".
Going through them again, this is the one that spoke to me.
Reminding me to remember all the work that has to go one behind the scenes and the people that have to do it.
That I shouldn't take for granted a clean building or a happy person - there is always a lot more going on that I can't see.

When I ask to photograph someone, it is because I love the way they look and I think I make that clear. I'm paying them a tremendous compliment. What I'm saying is, I want to take you home with me and look at you for the rest of my life. - Amy Arbus

Here's a good example of a solid shot of something we usually don't see even though we walk by it every day. I like the jaunty way the brush is sitting up.
my first thought was....hey, that is one mangy looking mop bucket!
I used to work as a janitor so I especially appreciate what you're saying. People try not to see you when you're doing that work. it's wearing. I only did it for a short time, I can't imagine the long term. I so so agree with you we should always call to mind how our spaces are maintained and who does that work on our behalf.
I like the slice of life.
truth.
