What it looks like here

What it looks like here, originally uploaded by gawdessness.

My two younger children and I went and visited a friend on her acreage.

Everything was so visually improbable.

The sky impossibly blue, the pond an opal coloured skating rink dug out of unbelievably deep snow.
Unbelievably it was warm enough to go without a coat for the entire afternoon.

We had an outdoor fire, a hot dog and marshmallow roast. There was skating and sledding and walking through the woods on her ten acres.

My camera was filled with pictures of , cats, dogs, kids, trees, woodpecker excavations, friends, a wild chickadee and even the slightest glimpse of the beginning of pussywillows!

My heart was filled too.

I can see why, what it's doing to my heart just looking at it. Beautiful shot, and sounds like a beautiful day. :)

Looks so cold to me, but still beautiful. (Have I mentioned that I hate cold weather? I think I might have.)

Sounds like a very nice day. Love seeing the ice rink dug out of the snow.

i love the dog and the odd color of the pond and non sequitur bench and wheaten-colored grasses.

Forgive me! I forgot to add you until today! You make me so want to be able to take pictures like you. You take the ordinary and expose the extraordinary about it. I want a rebel badly. You inspire me!

I really love this. I would so love to have been there! When I was a teeny-bopper I skated every weekend.

That photo reminds me of my childhood. We had a skating pond just like that. Thanks for bringing back those nice memories.

When I ask to photograph someone, it is because I love the way they look and I think I make that clear. I'm paying them a tremendous compliment. What I'm saying is, I want to take you home with me and look at you for the rest of my life.
