The inside of a tulip, that is all it is, but I look in and see images of coral reefs under the sea, and anemones and sea stars.
That maybe the influence of the documentary on ocean life that I watched with my family the other evening too...
whatever it is, I find it beguiling.
For way too many more pictures of flowers, up close and personal please click on the flickring gawdess link on the side to get to my flickr account.
Although I didn't spend as much time as I would like on it (things like feeding children and paying bills kept coming up) - I did try out different things like shorter and longer exposure and using the big flash.

When I ask to photograph someone, it is because I love the way they look and I think I make that clear. I'm paying them a tremendous compliment. What I'm saying is, I want to take you home with me and look at you for the rest of my life. - Amy Arbus

Breathtaking and transforming.
I love this. Incredible.
I love this so much. It's just so delicate and ethereal.
That. is. awesome. Macro so totally rocks! The center piece seems so strong, so solid. What a great experiment.
This is great. I'd have never guessed that's what it was.
I didn't know the flash would work in macro settings...I don't think mine will. What keeps it from looking bleached out by the flash?
answer to white out flash question:
YOu know, I am not sure if it is because the flash I am using has a pivoting head, so I can bounce the light off of the ceiling or just plain focus it away from my subject OR if it has to do with keeping the shutter open for a while after the flash has gone off. So that I get a burst of light but then just regular light flowing in.
Hmmm.
I should make notes or something!
What a fantastic macro shot!
