Forecast

Forecast, originally uploaded by gawdessness.

There is a winter storm warning for areas not too far from where I live.

I found an echo of that in these intricately cut paper flakes scattered over my friend's coffee table. She had made them with her kids, well they are now all young adults really.

Whenever I am over at her house I am caught by the varying array of relaxed art and I resolve to try and cause a little more of that in my own home.

Canon powershot G5, shutter 1/40, f3.2, focal length 461mm, iso 50.

I remember making these :) And I remember my utter amazement to find out that snowflakes really DO look like that!

these are awesome. i remember making them, too, but mine never turned out to look like that. more art in the house -- a good vow.

Nice snowflakes, but really cool photo. I like the composition a lot. Of course, looking at this photo feels out of place to me, because winter is ending here so it seems weird to me to be thinking about snowflakes.

Wow. Those are so cool. Much more intricate than the snowflakes I made when I was a kid.

I love cutting out snowflakes. I did it when I was a kid, and then with my kids, and now even as we are all growing up more, I still like to make them.

Wonderful shot.

"the varying array of relaxed art" ...what a lovely phrase and appealing goal. These snowflakes are lovely. Good shot!

When I ask to photograph someone, it is because I love the way they look and I think I make that clear. I'm paying them a tremendous compliment. What I'm saying is, I want to take you home with me and look at you for the rest of my life.
